Statement of Support for Governor Brown’s Climate Plan

As the Board of Directors of Oregon Business for Climate, we commend Governor Kate Brown for her bold leadership in announcing a responsible and balanced Climate Policy Agenda today. Implementation of the Governor’s vision includes support of a market-based Cap and Trade program to complement other important state policies either underway or proposed.  Together, they will help achieve the state’s climate emissions reduction goals that are currently not being met. By supporting a market-based model that allows for the lowest cost and most flexible approach to reducing emissions, we can ensure meaningful climate action and emissions reductions in Oregon while transitioning successfully to a thriving, low carbon economy.

About Us:

Oregon Business for Climate is a nonpartisan, nonprofit statewide organization with over 90 members (and growing) focused on mobilizing industry support and business leadership to advance responsible statewide climate policy and institute a price on carbon emissions while strengthening Oregon’s economy.
